Job Summary
Provide basic life support care to patients in the prehospital and emergency department settings. Competent understanding of EMT or AEMT level emergency medicine with ability to deliver patient care in a sophisticated and intelligent manor. Must maintain Connecticut EMS certification or licensure equal or greater than EMT and have 2 years of recent field experience in a high-volume urban 911 system. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, ability to remain calm in chaotic situations, and readiness to perform under physically demanding conditions. Certification in BLS/CPR desired; preferred certifications include PHTLS, PEPP, GEMS and CEVO; valid driver’s license required.
Required Qualifications
- High School graduate
- Connecticut EMS certification or licensure equal or greater than Emergency Medical Technician
- 2 years recent equivalent field experience working with Paramedics in a urban, 911 high volume system.
