Job Summary
Emergency Medical Technician at Vassar College provides medical care to students, staff, and visitors in a college health setting, performs CLIA waived testing, supports after-hours outreach, manages medical records, conducts welfare checks, supports emergency medical responses during events, maintains equipment and inventory, and adheres to HIPAA/OSHA guidelines; requires NYS EMT license, current BLS CPR, 3+ years experience, and a NYS driver’s license. Per diem, part-time role at campus location in Poughkeepsie, NY.
Required Qualifications
- Valid NYS Emergency Medical Technician license
- Current BLS CPR certification
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a commercial or volunteer agency
- Current NYS driver’s license
- Ability to work independently
- Strong leadership skills
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Ability to perform CLIA waived testing (flu, strep, rapid COVID, urine dips)
- HIPAA privacy and confidentiality adherence
- Experience with medical records management and compliance
- Ability to provide welfare checks and emergency medical response during campus events
- Willingness to participate in mandatory training and quality improvement activities
