Job Summary
Provide essential pre-hospital medical care as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) for Medtrans in Santa Ana, CA. Respond to emergency calls, assess patient conditions, perform CPR, wound care, splinting, and oxygen administration, and transport patients to medical facilities. Monitor vital signs, document patient conditions accurately, and collaborate with paramedics, nurses, and other healthcare professionals during patient transport. Safely operate an ambulance, ensure medical supplies are stocked and vehicle readiness is maintained, and complete patient care reports (PCRs) and other required documentation. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations while delivering compassionate, high-quality care in varying outdoor/indoor environments. Requires strong communication, interpersonal skills, ability to stay calm in high-stress situations, problem-solving abilities, physical stamina for lifting/carrying patients and equipment, and availability for shifts that may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Current EMT certification in California
- BLS Provider Card from American Heart Association
- Medical Examiner’s Certificate
- Ambulance Driver’s License
- Valid California driver’s license with a clean driving record
