Job Summary
Respond to emergency calls in a correctional facility to provide rapid, immediate care; assess new patients on intake, document medical history, and respond to day-to-day medical issues for the inmate population; restock and maintain medical equipment and emergency bags. Must have EMT or Paramedic training, current CPR/BLS, and comply with HIPAA and facility policies; able to operate medical software and maintain health records; willingness to work the night shift, overtime as needed, and pass background/drug tests. Experience in a correctional setting is preferred and ongoing certification/licensing must be maintained.
Required Qualifications
- Successful completion of an Emergency Medical Technician or Paramedic course
- Current and unrestricted certification or registration in state of employment
- Prior experience in a correctional or jail setting is preferred
