Job Summary
Emergency Medical Technician or Paramedic provides rapid response to medical emergencies inside a correctional facility during night shifts; conducts initial examinations at inmate intake, documents medical history and treatment, and assists with ongoing care of inmates. Responsibilities include maintaining and restocking medical bags/equipment, ensuring confidentiality of health records, and using site-specific software to manage medical information. Requires current CPR/BLS certification and ongoing compliance with facility policies, HIPAA requirements, and state licensure; prior correctional or jail setting experience is preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Successful completion of an Emergency Medical Technician or Paramedic course
- Current and unrestricted certification or registration in state of employment
- Must pass background check and pre-employment drug test
