Job Summary
Emergency Medical Technician provides immediate medical care and transport of patients during emergencies, including responding to calls, assessing conditions, administering life-saving interventions (CPR, bleeding control, airway management), operating defibrillators and oxygen delivery systems, documenting patient care, and ensuring readiness of emergency vehicles and equipment. Works with paramedics, firefighters, law enforcement, and hospital staff; physical demands include lifting up to 250 lbs with partner assist and work in varied environments. Requires NYS EMT license and BLS certification; per diem/variable schedule in Potsdam/Massena area.
Required Qualifications
- BLS required at hire, If not AHA, must obtain AHA BLS within 3 months of hire
- Valid NYS Basic EMT
- Valid Drivers License
- Heavy Work - Exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
