Job Summary
Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) provides immediate medical care and transport of patients during emergencies, coordinating with dispatch and other responders; administers CPR, controls bleeding, manages airways, and uses equipment such as defibrillators and oxygen delivery systems; transports patients to medical facilities, maintaining patient care reports and ensuring readiness of vehicles and equipment; works with paramedics, firefighters, law enforcement, and hospital staff to stabilize and transfer care; maintains composure under high pressure and adheres to medical protocols; requires valid NYS EMT license and BLS, with physical demands including lifting/moving patients and operating in varied environments.
Required Qualifications
- Valid NYS Basic EMT
- BLS required at hire; if not AHA, must obtain AHA BLS within 3 months of hire
