Job Summary
Emergency Medical Technician – Full Time at Danbury Hospital administers emergent and non-emergent out-of-hospital care and transportation services to sick or injured persons. Responsibilities include providing pre-hospital emergency and non-emergent care, transporting patients, documenting conveyance details, maintaining EMS equipment, operating vehicles safely, delivering high-quality medical transportation to wheelchair and livery patients, completing CME material as assigned, participating in orientation/training of staff and students, ensuring compliance, keeping vehicles and equipment clean, and contributing to EMS system improvements as needed.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma
- Current/valid CT driver's license
- Compliance with random drug screening
- AHA, ARC or NSC BLS CPR (or CPR-Instructor) certificate not expired
- On-time completion of CME/Educational material as assigned by the service
- License: Current valid CT DPH EMT and/or AEMT certification (no grace period)
- Current Basic license with 0 to 6 months experience at level 1 or Current EMT-Intermediate license with 6 months to 1 year experience at level 2
- Minimum Experience: Six months
