Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Maryland Class C Non-Commercial Driver's License or equivalent
- Basic Life Support Certification as EMT or Maryland EMT certification
- EMT license/certification from MIEMSS or NREMT
- Possession of or eligibility for Maryland licensure as EMT
- Ability to pass physical ability test
- Possession of or obtain required certifications within training period
- Driving and vehicle operation readiness
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, holidays
- Ability to read, speak, and comprehend English
- Ability to perform emergency medical techniques and patient care
- Teamwork and communication skills
- Background check and drug testing requirements
- EMS-related training and certifications during academy
- CPR for Healthcare Providers by AHA
- EVOC/Defensive Driving
- Ability to maintain licenses/certifications as a condition of employment
- Interpretation of MD medical protocols
- Ability to learn emergency medical procedures
- Proficiency with basic computer commands
