Job Summary

Provide pre-hospital and interfacility care, transport patients safely, and represent Northwest Ambulance with professionalism. Strictly follow company policies, County Medical Protocols, and Washington State laws while operating the ambulance responsibly. Complete assigned duties, submit required paperwork, and ensure accuracy of all patient and operational records. Identify and mitigate patient safety risks, partner with dispatchers and crew members during high-pressure situations, and maintain a clean, stocked vehicle. Work extended shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays, adhering to a schedule of 11, 12, or 13-hour rotations.

Required Qualifications

  • Current Washington State EMT certification (or NREMT with WA reciprocity eligibility)
  • Valid Washington State Driver's License - must have maintained for 2 years or longer
  • Clean driving record - Over 21 years old - limit of 3 citations in past 36 months or under 21 years old - limit of 1 citation in the past 36 months (DUI and other serious offenses may disqualify candidacy)
  • Current CPR/BLS certification (American Heart Association preferred)
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to pass a background check, drug screen, and physical
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and customer service skills
  • Ability to work extended shifts, including nights, weekends, and holiday
  • Must be at least 18 years of age

  • Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced and occasionally stressful environment
  • Ability to complete comprehensive and billable reports for each patient interaction
  • Prior experience in interfacility transport or 911 response
  • Familiarity with ESO or similar ePCR documentation systems
