Job Summary
Obtain and document patient medical histories, vital signs, and relevant information while preparing exam and procedure rooms for efficiency. Start IVs and administer medications as directed, collect and label laboratory specimens, and assist providers during examinations and minor procedures. Educate patients on procedures and medications, support post-procedure care including IV discontinuation, maintain instrument cleanliness, and dispose of contaminated materials properly. Respond to emergency and non-emergency situations providing Basic Life Support (BLS), evaluate patient conditions, and support life-saving interventions while following all clinical protocols and safety standards. Requires current EMT and IV certification with BLS certification.
Required Qualifications
- Current Emergency Medical Technician Certification
- IV Certification required - or willing to obtain
- BLS certification required
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Knowledge of GCP, federal, state, and local regulations, including HIPAA policies and procedures
Desired Qualifications
- 2 years of experience as an EMT preferred
