Job Summary

Respond to emergency calls, assess patients' conditions, and administer CPR, control bleeding, and manage airways to stabilize patients. Safely transport patients to medical facilities while monitoring their condition and utilizing essential medical equipment such as defibrillators and oxygen delivery systems. Maintain accurate patient care reports, ensure vehicle readiness, and interpret diagnostic instructions. Work in uncontrolled environments, including extreme terrain and inclement weather, while lifting and moving patients up to 250 lbs. Maintain composure in high-pressure situations and participate in continuous education to stay current with medical protocols.

Required Qualifications

  • BLS required at hire, If not AHA, must obtain AHA BLS within 3 months of hire
  • Valid NYS Basic EMT
  • Valid Drivers License
  • Heavy Work - Exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Requires constant walking, standing or squatting
  • Ability to maintaining composure and professionalism in high-pressure situations
  • Remain calm and focused in high-stress, emotionally charged situations

Desired Qualifications

  • Emergency Vehicle Operator Course (EVOC) or equivalent
  • Strong knowledge of medical procedures and emergency care techniques
