Job Summary
Arrive to emergency scenes, determine the situation, and develop a plan of action while providing support, treatment, and evaluation for patients on scene and during transport. Monitor patient conditions, perform data collection, and communicate findings to the primary Registered Nurse. Use appropriate medical equipment to assess injury severity and assist with patient mobilization, ambulation, and transport. Requires Kansas EMT licensure, BLS certification, and willingness to work rotating weekends and holidays. Located at Via Christi Hospital St. Francis in Wichita, KS.
Required Qualifications
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date
- American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted (for BLS)
- Emergency Medical Tech credentialed from the Kansas Board of Emergency Medical Services (KSBEMS)
- High School Diploma equivalency
- 2 years of cumulative experience
- Associate's degree/Technical degree
- 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience
Desired Qualifications
- Advanced Life Support
- American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted (for ALS)
- Drivers License credentialed from the Kansas Department of Motor Vehicles
- English major preferred
- 2 years of cumulative experience (alternative to degree)
- Associate's degree/Technical degree (alternative to experience)
- 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience (alternative to degree)
