Job Summary
Assess, treat, and transport patients in emergency and non-emergency situations using established protocols. Provide advanced airway management, oxygen therapy, and medication administration while operating emergency vehicles safely. Maintain accurate patient care reports and ensure all equipment and supplies remain operational. Collaborate with healthcare professionals, law enforcement, and other agencies during responses. Participate in continuing education to maintain licensure and attend mandatory training programs. This full-time day shift role reports to a supervisor at Oconee Medical Campus, where Prisma Health serves over 1.2 million patients annually.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent OR post-high school diploma/highest degree earned
- One (1) year Emergency Medical Technician experience
- State or Provisional Emergency Medical Technician – Advanced certification
- BLS - Basic Life Support (CPR)
- A valid driver's license
- an acceptable motor vehicle record, as defined by the Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) Chart
- Basic computer skills
- Knowledge of office equipment
- Working knowledge of patient care equipment
- Ability to demonstrates skill proficiency on an annual basis
- Ability to maintain professional certifications and attends in-service / mandatory training programs
- Ability to attend staff meetings
- Clinical skills
- Decision-making skills
- Ability to operate effectively under stress, while maintaining compliance with all regulatory and organizational standards

Desired Qualifications
- Basic (EMT-B) Pre-hospital care experience
- In Lieu Of Provisional Emergency Medical Technician - Advanced (EMT-A) certification from another Emergency Medical Service COMPACT State (EMS COMPACT) meets education and EMT-A certification requirements
- Obtaining conventional State required certification and National Registry (NREMT) certification must occur within twelve months of hire
