Job Summary
EMS Director provides comprehensive oversight of WIHCC’s Emergency Medical Services program, maintains clinical skills, oversees EMS staff, and serves as liaison to the Navajo Nation EMS Program. Responsibilities include on-line and off-line medical supervision, development and maintenance of EMS scopes of practice and protocols for emergency medication, participation in peer-review activities, quality and performance improvement, and ensuring confidentiality and compliance with policies. Requires MD/DO, Emergency Medicine residency, board eligibility or certification, and Arizona licensure; Navajo language preference; and ability to work within WIHCC and tribal regulatory frameworks.
Required Qualifications
- Degree in Medicine (MD or DO)
- Completion of an approved residency in Emergency Medicine
- Board Certification or eligibility in Emergency Medicine
- Unrestricted medical license in the State of Arizona
- Bilingual skills in English and Navajo language preferred
- Valid unrestricted and insurable driver’s license
- Background investigation satisfactory
- Complies with Indian Child Protection and Family Violence Prevention Act (ICPFVP) requirements
