Emergency Manager

Job Summary
The Emergency Manager will coordinate and collaborate with ASR (Asset, Security, Readiness), OIG program offices, continuity of operations program (COOP), and business continuity for all DHS OIG Headquarters and offices. Responsibilities include managing the OIG’s emergency occupant planning and protection program, preparing Occupant Emergency Plans (OEP), coordinating with the Health and Safety officer, and performing operations coordination duties. The role requires expertise in emergency management, including preparedness, mitigation, response, and recovery, along with the ability to develop effective emergency management systems.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in emergency management or comparable degree field
- 5-7 years of emergency management, disaster services, or risk management experience in the federal sector
- Maintain current Certified Emergency Manager (CEM) certification from the International Association of Emergency Managers or successful completion of the National Emergency Management Advanced Academy (NEMAA)
- Ability to apply subject matter expertise, technical writing, and project management skills
- Active Security Clearance Required
