Job Summary
Execute high-acuity crisis triage by serving as the primary communications link for incoming emergency calls, rapidly assessing situations, and prioritizing response protocols. Direct emergency code and response dispatch to deploy specialized clinical teams, security personnel, and emergency response units in strict accordance with hospital safety policies. Coordinate patient transfer logistics by facilitating smooth communication between clinical units, emergency departments, and transport services to ensure timely bed placement. Master complex emergency dispatch consoles, CAD software, two-way radio systems, and hospital-wide paging networks while maintaining real-time data integrity through meticulous logging of all incident timelines and metrics. Deliver calming patient services support by de-escalating high-stress situations with clear, compassionate guidance to patients and family members.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience
- Proven experience in emergency dispatch, public safety communications, 911 call handling, or high-volume healthcare transfer/dispatch operations
- Demonstrated ability to remain laser-focused, decisive, and calm when managing life-safety emergencies, distressed callers, and rapidly changing environments
- Advanced proficiency in navigating CAD dispatch software, multi-line phone queues, telemetry/paging platforms, and electronic health record (EHR) databases simultaneously
- Clear, articulate speech and active listening skills, with the ability to convey urgent instructions and critical patient information rapidly without misinterpretation
- Strong attention to detail with an uncompromised commitment to following safety protocols, HIPAA regulations, and departmental SLAs (Service Level Agreements)
- Sunday - Saturday 8:30a - 4:30p w/ rotating weekends & holidays
