Job Summary
Conduct direct patient care, perform vital signs, EKGs, and phlebotomy, and manage patient transport and documentation following standardized clinical pathways as directed by the RN. Maintain active NA certification or equivalent experience, and complete mandatory Bristol Health training including CPR, infection control, and restraint protocols. Operate in a fast-paced emergency environment with weekend responsibilities and 32-hour shifts.
Required Qualifications
- Highschool Diploma or equivalent
- Active NA certificate
- 2 years of experience in a role as a PCA, EDT, or CNA in acute or long term care
- Basic Life Support (BLS) - Active CPR certificate
- 3rd yr BSN student who was completed two clinical rotations
- Medical Assistant Certification
- EMT Certification
- General orientation at time of hire
- Accucheck
- CPR
- Fire/Safety/Infection Control annually
- OCL
- Over-Dose Lavage
- PERT
- Restraint Protocol
- 1:1 Observation Protocol
- Health Care Provider CPR from American Heart Association or Professional Rescuer CPR by American Red Cross or other similar programs deemed appropriate by management
- Additional cross-training as appropriate to perform diverse job duties
- Successfully complete all training programs as determined by the Hospital
- Other unit based competencies/skills as required
- Successfully complete unit based competency package
