Job Summary
ED Tech I performs patient care interventions, wound care, nursing support, specimen collection, EKG tasks, patient transport, and Health Unit Coordinator duties in the Emergency Department. Requires ability to work in a fast-paced environment, perform basic procedures (dressings, Foley/straight catheters, venipuncture), assist with patient registration and discharge, and demonstrate initiative and independence. Educational background includes high school diploma or GED with NCA I or EMT credentialing; BLS preferred. Must be able to lift and transport patients and operate in a hazardous environment with hazmat decontamination training. Relocation assistance available based on eligibility.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- NCA I training or North Carolina EMT training
- BLS preferred
- Current minimum listing as an NCA I with the Division of Facility Services or credential as EMT
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions
