Job Summary
Full-time Emergency Department ED Tech on third shift (12-hour shifts, 36 hours weekly, every other weekend). Cross-trained to other areas of the hospital as determined appropriate; may be trained for secretarial/clerical duties. Reports to the Director of Emergency Department. Must have a high-school diploma or equivalent; CPR; Hazmat Training and Emergency Preparedness/Life Safety within one year. Six months healthcare experience and secretarial/computer experience preferred; completion of 12-lead EKG training required. Responsibilities include communicating with patients of all ages, completing paperwork and computer tasks, maintaining high mental alertness to avoid errors, and lifting/moving patients as needed; may perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High-school diploma or equivalent
- CPR required
- Hazmat Training within one year
- Emergency Preparedness and Life Safety within one year
- Six months in a health care environment preferred
- Secretarial experience preferred
- Computer experience preferred
- Successful completion of 12 lead EKG training from Cardiopulmonary Department
