Job Summary
Emergency Department Assistant supports the ED team by assisting Registered Nurses and physicians with direct and indirect patient care, including wound care, phlebotomy, ECGs, moving and positioning patients, vital signs, data entry, admissions/discharges, and coordinating patient flow. Requires a High School diploma or equivalent and CPR certification; EMT-B and phlebotomy/ECG skills are preferred. Works under direct supervision within the Northwestern Medicine Emergency Department.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- CPR certification from American Heart Association
- Preferred: Phlebotomy and ECG skills; EMT-B certification helpful.
- College degree or interest in health care field preferred.
