Job Summary
Emergency Department Technician provides technical patient care under RN supervision for pediatric to geriatric patients, including telemetry monitoring, EKGs, phlebotomy, point-of-care testing, ADL assistance, and patient transport. The role requires ability to read equipment data, communicate with the care team, rotate to multiple areas, and maintain competencies (BLS, EKG, unit-specific). Shift details shown in posting, with a part-time schedule; on-site at Bronson South Haven.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- CNA license preferred
- BLS certification by end of orientation period
- EMT program completion or RMA/CMA certification considered in lieu of EMT requirement
- 1 year EMS or hospital-based experience preferred
- Nursing student with good record or military corpsman may be considered
- 12 Lead EKG course within 6 months of hire date
- Strong reading/writing/Math skills
- Ability to read data from equipment/computers and coordinate with RN
- Good communication with patients, visitors, and healthcare team
- Must be able to rotate to other areas within cluster group
- Ability to transport patients and assist with ADLs
- Basic medical terminology knowledge preferred
