Job Summary
Emergency Department Technician II reports to the Nurse Manager and performs multi-skilled activities to support a patient-centered approach in the Adult Emergency Department under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse. The role requires at least a high school diploma or equivalent and an active BLS certification, along with prior ED or hospital experience or enrollment in nursing/healthcare studies. The position is a regular full-time night-shift role (3 twelve-hour nights per week) with weekend and holiday coverage, supporting patient care and safety in a fast-paced ED environment.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers or American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider)
- At least 1 year in an ED Technician I position at MUSC or equivalent experience
- Experience in a hospital setting or inpatient environment
- Active enrollment in nursing or healthcare-related studies acceptable
- Ability to perform job functions requiring standing, walking, lifting (up to 50 lbs) and other physical tasks as listed in job description
