Job Summary
Provide direct patient care under RN supervision at Essentia Health. Responsibilities include CPR, wound care and irrigation, splinting, suctioning, performing EKGs, point-of-care testing, specimen collection, crutch fitting, ambulation education, transporting patients between departments, personal hygiene assistance, nutrition support, comfort care, assisting with transfers, taking vital signs, and maintaining a safe, clean environment. Maintain documentation and promptly report changes in patient condition to the RN. Education requirements include a completed EMT, LPN, or nursing assistant program; licensure/certification requirements include BLS and MN LPN licensure if applicable; completion of ER Tech residency or EMT program within 6 months. Schedule: part-time (0.8 FTE) with Day/Eve/Night rotations; location in Duluth, MN; benefits include medical/dental/vision, retirement, tuition assistance, and flexible scheduling.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an emergency medical technician, licensed practical nurse, or nursing assistant program.
- BLS certification (new hires must obtain within 1 month of hire)
- ER Tech residency or EMT program within 6 months of start date (for Nursing Assistant hired into role)
