Job Summary
Emergency Department Tech in Prisma Health’s Oconee Memorial Hospital emergency department. Provides direct patient care under the supervision of licensed personnel, performs tasks such as phlebotomy, EKGs, vital signs, oxygen therapy, basic wound care, catheterization (with training), patient transport, daily living assistance, and documentation in the EMR. Responsibilities include assisting with resuscitation/CPR, monitoring, infection control, equipment maintenance, and participation in department process improvements and compliance training. Requires completion of an approved nursing assistant, patient care tech, EMT/paramedic, or related training program and may include monitor tech duties depending on unit needs.
Required Qualifications
- Education - Completion of a nursing assistant, patient care tech, medical assistant, EMT, Paramedic, surgical tech, phlebotomy, military medical corpsman or nursing fundamentals course.
- Experience - No experience required. Experience as nursing assistant, patient care tech, medical assistant, EMT, Paramedic, Surgical Tech, Phlebotomist, Medical Corpsman or nursing student preferred.
