Job Summary
Provide direct patient care in the emergency department under supervision, including sterile and non-sterile dressings, perineal care, phlebotomy, EKGs, and incentive spirometry. Perform data collection for vital signs, oxygen saturation, and fluid intake/outtake while documenting all observations and procedures in the EMR. Assist with patient positioning, ambulation, fall prevention, and transport to diagnostic studies or floor assignments. Maintain medical equipment, decontaminate supplies, and stock carts while following infection control standards. Participate in resuscitation, CPR, and emergency airway procedures as needed.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Completion of a nursing assistant, patient care tech, medical assistant, EMT, Paramedic, surgical tech, phlebotomy, military medical corpsman or nursing fundamentals course
- Night shift availability
- High School Diploma or GED and current or former certification or licensure as proof of completed training (in lieu of school verification)
- High School Diploma or GED and 1 year of related experience (in lieu of clinical coursework)
Desired Qualifications
- Experience as nursing assistant, patient care tech, medical assistant, EMT, Paramedic, Surgical Tech, Phlebotomist, Medical Corpsman or nursing student
- Licensure, certification, or registration in the field of training
