Job Summary
Assist in the Emergency Department under RN supervision, performing patient-care duties such as vital signs, 12-lead EKGs, venipuncture, IV catheter placement/removal, orthopedic splinting and cast application, and point-of-care testing. Participate in morgue care, patient transfers, discharge preparation, equipment checks, and adherence to hospital policies. Supports Code Blue and Go Teams; contributes to efficiency, cost containment, and quality of care while maintaining professional communication and medical terminology proficiency. Requires current BLS certification and Maryland CNA certification; comprehensive benefits and pro-rated salary based on hours.
Required Qualifications
- Current certification in BLS
- CNA Certification from the Maryland Board of Nursing as required by Health Occupations Article Title 8-6A-01
- Completion of skill competency checklists
- Completion of departmental competencies within one year of hire
