Job Summary
Register, admit, and schedule patients to the Hospital Information System while gathering data to ensure timely reimbursement and accurate registration. Communicate hospital policies and procedures to patients, prepare patient charts, and accurately disposition cases according to department policy. Collect insurance co-payments and scan all relevant paperwork while adhering to St. Joseph Hospital and JCAHO regulatory requirements. Demonstrate service excellence at all times and navigate multiple software systems efficiently. Requires full-time training (Monday to Friday 8am-4pm) for four weeks, with a salary of $28.33/hour. Join St. Joseph Hospital in Bethpage, a member of Catholic Health, to care for approximately 33,000 patients annually.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Must be available for full time training (Monday to Friday 8am-4pm) for a minimum of 4 weeks
- One to two years in a health related field
- Knowledge of EPIC and STAR
- Previous registration, medical insurance background, medical terminology experience
- Excellence in Customer Service
- Interview and data accumulation skills
- Excellent computer/keyboard skills
- Internet skills
- Ability to navigate from one software system to another efficiently
- Must pass keyboarding test with ability to type 35 WPM
Desired Qualifications
