Emergency Department Registered Nurse - 24 hours/wk, 11p-7:30a

Emergency Department RN provides individualized, outcome-oriented nursing care using the nursing process. Responsibilities include medication administration per SSH policies, medication reconciliation, documentation of narcotic handling, planning and documenting an individualized plan of care, admission assessment, ongoing patient assessment, and communicating effectively with patient/family. Maintains safety/quality through adherence to hand hygiene, universal precautions, regulatory requirements, and escalation when needed. Demonstrates professional development, utilization of technology (Lotus Notes, department software), compliance with policies, and patient/family-centered care. Delivers care with attention to patient age and cultural needs, collaboration with the care team, and supports discharge planning and patient education per unit standards. Minimum education: graduate of an accredited School of Nursing. Minimum work experience: acute care RN experience preferred. Licenses/certifications required: RN; additional department-specific certifications (BLS, ACLS, PALS, etc.) may be required.
