Job Summary
Provide nursing care to a defined group of patients in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment acting similarly to a free-standing emergency department. Use the nursing process to assess needs, develop written care plans, and prioritize interventions based on essential patient requirements. Collaborate with providers and team members to coordinate services across health care delivery segments while addressing diverse chief complaints from neonates to geriatrics. Deliver patient and family education, including counseling on therapeutic regimens and preventive measures, while adhering to Kaiser Foundation Health Plan of Washington documentation and safety standards. Maintain continuous evaluation of patient responses and modify care plans as status changes occur.
Required Qualifications
- Associates degree in Nursing from an accredited program
- Registered Nurse License (Washington) required at hire OR Compact License: Registered Nurse required at hire
- Basic Life Support required at hire
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support within 6 months of hire
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support required at hire
- Communication, problem-solving, leadership and decision-making skills
Desired Qualifications
- Ambulatory care nursing experience
- Primary nursing or case-management experience
- Bachelor of science in Nursing (BSN)
- Emergency department nursing experience
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support at hire
