Job Summary
Temporary Emergency Department Nurse Extern position for nursing students; co-assigned with a RN and may perform direct and indirect patient care under RN supervision. Responsibilities include assisting the RN in direct patient care and activities of daily living, observing and reporting patient concerns, assisting with examinations/procedures under departmental procedures, maintaining a safe and sanitary environment, and seeking educational opportunities to increase competence. Education prerequisite: must be in the final semester/year of an accredited RN program (Diploma, Associate, or Baccalaureate) and obtain Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of hire.
Required Qualifications
- Must be entering their final semester/year of Diploma Program, Associate or Baccalaureate RN program of an accredited School of Nursing.
- Obtain certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire date.
