Emergency Department Clinical Nurse - (Midshift) Evening

Emergency Department RN on a midshift (3pm–3am) at Barnes Jewish West County Hospital. Provide direct patient care in a high‐acuity ED, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation within established nursing standards. Collaborate with physicians, fellow nurses and the interprofessional team to promote patient and family centered care, prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment, educate patients and families on post-treatment home care and medication administration, and participate in activities that support patient safety, quality and regulatory compliance. The role involves developing, implementing and documenting individual care plans with defined goals in collaboration with the care team and patient/family, ensuring effective communication of the plan across the continuum of care. This is a safety-sensitive position that requires current RN licensure and ER experience; preferred qualifications include a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing and up to <2 years of experience. The position supports professional development and ongoing career progression within the BJC RN Career Ladder, with potential for pay increases aligned with new responsibilities.
