Job Summary
Veterinary nursing Shift Lead responsible for overseeing shift operations and maintaining smooth ER workflow. Own the rhythm and flow of the shift, lead team huddles and rounds, manage daily workflow, assign/adapt shift roles, coach team members on the floor, coordinate breaks, resolve conflicts, lead shift transitions and end-of-day wrap-ups, and communicate clearly with pet parents and staff. Requires Credentialed Veterinary Technician (CVT/RVT/LVT/LVMT) or enrollment in VEG Credentialing Support Program (preferred) and 1+ year of veterinary technician or assistant experience (emergency or specialty medicine preferred). Must be able to stand for prolonged periods, lift up to 25 kg (with assistance up to 40 kg), and work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed. Possesses strong clinical workflow understanding, empathy in guiding others, excellent communication, and a proactive ownership mindset to support learning and growth.
Required Qualifications
- Credentialed Veterinary Technician (CVT, RVT, LVT, LVMT) or enrolled in VEG Credentialing Support Program preferred
- 1+ years of experience in a veterinary technician or assistant role; experience in emergency or specialty medicine preferred
- Strong grasp of clinical workflow and team dynamics
- Leadership instincts, an ownership mindset, and a desire to grow professionally
