Job Summary
Per diem Emergency Credentialed Veterinary Technician at VEG in St. Peters, MO. You will join a fast-paced emergency veterinary team handling triage, treatments, diagnostics, anesthesia, monitoring, and critical care nursing across a range of cases from minor to complex emergencies. Must be credentialed as a veterinary technician in the state, with 1+ years of experience in a veterinary technician role (emergency or specialty experience preferred) and a high school diploma or equivalent. Responsibilities include nursing care, IVs and medications, CPR readiness, diagnostics and imaging support, anesthesia management, and collaboration with doctors to deliver gold-standard, emotionally intelligent care to pets and their families. Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays on a rotating or as-needed basis. Strong communication, compassionate presence, and ability to handle a loud environment are required. Strong preferences for AVMA-accredited program associates or higher and potential for additional compensation through advanced certifications (VTS in ECC, internal medicine, or anesthesia/analgesia)." ,
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Credentialed as a veterinary technician (CVT, RVT, LVT, LVMT) in the state the VEG practice is located
- 1+ years of experience in a veterinary technician role; experience in emergency or specialty medicine preferred
- AVMA accredited program associate’s degree or higher strongly preferred
