Job Summary

Per diem Emergency Credentialed Veterinary Technician in Princeton, NJ, joining a 24/7 emergency veterinary team. You’ll work on the front lines of emergency care, handling cases from triage to treatment, diagnostics, anesthesia, monitoring, and critical care nursing. Responsibilities include delivering nursing care and emotional support, managing medications and monitoring, supporting CPR, performing diagnostics and imaging, placing tubes and central lines, utilizing advanced techniques (ultrasound, endoscopy), and collaborating with doctors to keep care flowing. Requires CVT/RVT/LVT/LVMT credentials in the state, AVMA-accredited program degree (preferred), and 1+ years of veterinary technician experience with a focus on emergency or specialty medicine. Strong communication, bedside manner with pets and families, ability to work nights/weekends/holidays, and the physical ability to stand, kneel, and lift are expected. Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s degree or higher in veterinary technology from an AVMA accredited program strongly preferred
  • Credentialed as a veterinary technician (CVT, RVT, LVT, LVMT) in the state the VEG practice is located
  • 1+ years of experience in a veterinary technician role; experience in emergency or specialty medicine preferred
  • Basic computer skills and a comprehension of practice management software and electronic medical record keeping
  • Excellent communicator and calm under pressure; ready to lend a hand to support those around you
  • Fine motor skills for handling patients and medical equipment
  • Ability to stand for prolonged hours, kneel, and lift up to 25 kg (up to 40 kg with assistance)
  • Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays on a rotating basis
