Job Summary
Triage, treat, and monitor patients in emergency settings, managing IVs, CRIs, blood transfusions, and anesthesia for fragile cases. Perform diagnostics, imaging, sample collection, and tube placement while providing emotional support to pet parents during critical moments. Deliver nursing care from first triage to discharge, operating central lines and endoscopies as needed. Work nights, weekends, and holidays on a rotating basis in a fast-paced, noisy environment with strong odors. Maintain calm under pressure while communicating effectively with doctors and teammates to keep care flowing.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Associate's degree or higher in veterinary technology from an AVMA accredited program
- Credentialed as a veterinary technician (CVT, RVT, LVT, LVMT) in the state the VEG practice is located
- 1+ years of experience in a veterinary technician role
- Basic computer skills
- Comprehension of practice management software
- Electronic medical record keeping
- Ability to stand for prolonged hours
- Ability to kneel
- Ability to work on the floor
- Ability to lift up to 25 kg on own
- Ability to support up to 40 kg with assistance
- Willingness to work in a noisy environment
- Willingness to work with strong or unpleasant odors
