Job Summary
Treat patients with compassion by performing basic to intermediate nursing care, administering medications, and managing intravenous fluid therapy. Accurately triage incoming patients using physical assessments and monitoring parameters while collecting samples for diagnostic tests and imaging. Perform advanced procedures including general anesthesia, vascular access techniques, and ultrasonography under protocolized plans. Collaborate with the team to coordinate care, coach veterinary assistants, and maintain equipment. This relief role requires 1+ years of experience, credentialed status, and the ability to lift up to 25 kg. Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Credentialed as a veterinary technician (CVT, RVT, LVT, LVMT) in the location of the VEG practice
- Basic computer skills to use practice management, electronic medical record, and collaboration software
- 1+ years of experience in a veterinary technician role
- Excellent communication skills (written, verbal and electronic) with the team and with customers
- Fine motor skills adequate for utilizing hospital equipment necessary daily such as syringes, electric clippers, computers, surgery instruments, monitors, diagnostic equipment, etc.
- Ability to stand for prolonged hours, kneel, work on the floor as well as ability to lift up to 25 kg on own and able to support up to 40 kg with assistance
Desired Qualifications
- Veterinary technician specialist (VTS) certification
- Experience in emergency or specialty medicine
