Job Summary
Triage, treat, and monitor patients ranging from minor to complex emergencies, managing IVs, CRIs, blood transfusions, and anesthesia for fragile cases. Perform diagnostics, imaging, sample collection, and tube placement while providing critical nursing care and emotional support to pet parents during stressful moments. Deliver CPR and advanced procedures like central lines and endoscopy, collaborating with doctors to maintain care flow from first triage to discharge. Work nights, weekends, and holidays on a rotating basis in a fast-paced environment, standing for prolonged periods and lifting up to 25 kg.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Associate's degree or higher in veterinary technology from an AVMA accredited program
- Credentialed as a veterinary technician (CVT, RVT, LVT, LVMT) in the state the VEG practice is located
- 1+ years of experience in a veterinary technician role
- Basic computer skills
- Comprehension of practice management software
- Electronic medical record keeping
- Ability to stand for prolonged hours
- Ability to kneel
- Ability to work on the floor
- Ability to lift up to 25 kg on own
- Ability to support up to 40 kg with assistance
- Willingness to work in a noisy environment
