Job Summary
Triage, treat, and monitor patients through the full emergency care continuum, from initial assessment to discharge. Deliver nursing care, administer medications and advanced diagnostics including imaging and ultrasounds, and manage anesthesia for complex cases. Perform critical procedures such as IVs, blood transfusions, and central lines while providing emotional support to pet parents during stressful moments. Maintain accurate electronic medical records and collaborate with doctors to shape care plans. This per diem relief role requires availability for nights, weekends, and holidays on a rotating basis, with a focus on working in a fast-paced, noisy environment.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Associate's degree or higher in veterinary technology from an AVMA accredited program
- Credentialed as a veterinary technician (CVT, RVT, LVT, LVMT) in the state the VEG practice is located
- 1+ years of experience in a veterinary technician role
- Basic computer skills
- Comprehension of practice management software
- Electronic medical record keeping
- Ability to stand for prolonged hours
- Ability to kneel
- Ability to work on the floor
- Ability to lift up to 25 kg on own
- Ability to support up to 40 kg with assistance
- Willingness to work in a noisy environment
