Job Summary
Triage, treat, and monitor patients through all stages of emergency care, from first arrival to discharge. Deliver nursing care, administer medications including IVs and blood transfusions, and perform diagnostics, imaging, and sample collection. Manage anesthesia and critical care procedures such as central lines, endoscopy, and ultrasounds while supporting pet parents emotionally. Perform CPR and maintain steady, compassionate presence during critical moments. Work nights, weekends, and holidays on a rotating basis in a fast-paced environment.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Associate's degree or higher in veterinary technology from an AVMA accredited program
- Credentialed as a veterinary technician (CVT, RVT, LVT, LVMT) in the state the VEG practice is located
- 1+ years of experience in a veterinary technician role
- Basic computer skills
- Comprehension of practice management software
- Electronic medical record keeping
- Ability to stand for prolonged hours
- Ability to kneel
- Ability to work on the floor
- Ability to lift up to 25 kg on own
- Ability to support up to 40 kg with assistance
- Willingness to work in a noisy environment
- Willingness to work with strong or unpleasant odors
- Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays on a rotating or as needed basis based on hospital needs
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work with people from all backgrounds and different personality types
Desired Qualifications
- Associate's degree or higher in veterinary technology from an AVMA accredited program
- Experience in emergency or specialty medicine
- VTS in ECC, internal medicine or anesthesia/analgesia
- Excellent communicator
