Job Summary
Triage, treat, and monitor patients through critical care nursing, anesthesia, and diagnostics including imaging and sample collection. Deliver IV therapy, blood transfusions, and central lines while performing CPR and endoscopy procedures. Collaborate with doctors to manage complex emergencies from first triage to discharge, providing emotional support to pet parents. Work nights, weekends, and holidays on a rotating basis in a fast-paced environment.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Associate's degree or higher in veterinary technology from an AVMA accredited program
- Credentialed as a veterinary technician (CVT, RVT, LVT, LVMT) in the state the VEG practice is located
- 1+ years of experience in a veterinary technician role
- Basic computer skills
- Comprehension of practice management software
- Electronic medical record keeping
- Ability to stand for prolonged hours
- Ability to kneel
- Ability to work on the floor
- Ability to lift up to 25 kg on own
- Ability to support up to 40 kg with assistance
- Willingness to work in a noisy environment
- Willingness to work with strong or unpleasant odors
- Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays on a rotating or as needed basis based on hospital needs
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work with people from all backgrounds and different personality types
Desired Qualifications
- Associate's degree or higher in veterinary technology from an AVMA accredited program
- Experience in emergency or specialty medicine
- VTS in ECC, internal medicine or anesthesia/analgesia
- Excellent communicator
