Job Summary

Triage, treat, and monitor patients through emergency cases ranging from minor to complex, delivering nursing care, treatments, and emotional support from first triage to discharge. Perform diagnostics, imaging, sample collection, and advanced procedures including IVs, CRIs, blood transfusions, central lines, endoscopy, and ultrasounds. Manage anesthesia for fragile patients while maintaining steady, compassionate presence for pet parents during critical moments. This per diem relief role requires CVT/RVT/LVT/LVMT credentialing, an associate's degree or higher, and 1+ years of experience, with VTS in ECC, internal medicine, or anesthesia/analgesia as a plus. Availability for nights, weekends, and holidays on a rotating basis is essential. VEG is a 2025 and 2026 Great Place to Work® certified veterinary emergency company.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Associate's degree or higher in veterinary technology from an AVMA accredited program
  • Credentialed as a veterinary technician (CVT, RVT, LVT, LVMT) in the state the VEG practice is located
  • 1+ years of experience in a veterinary technician role
  • Basic computer skills
  • Comprehension of practice management software
  • Electronic medical record keeping
  • Ability to stand for prolonged hours
  • Ability to kneel
  • Ability to work on the floor
  • Ability to lift up to 25 kg on own
  • Ability to support up to 40 kg with assistance
