Emergency Credentialed Veterinary Technician (Part Time) - Leesburg, VA

Job Summary

Triage, treat, and monitor patients from minor to complex emergencies, performing diagnostics, imaging, sample collection, and placing tubes. Administer medications including IVs and CRIs, manage anesthesia for fragile patients, and perform CPR. Collaborate with doctors to deliver nursing care, treatments, and emotional support from first triage to discharge. Work nights, weekends, and holidays on a rotating basis in a fast-paced environment with strong odors.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Associate's degree or higher in veterinary technology from an AVMA accredited program
  • Credentialed as a veterinary technician (CVT, RVT, LVT, LVMT) in the state the VEG practice is located
  • 1+ years of experience in a veterinary technician role
  • Basic computer skills
  • Comprehension of practice management software
  • Electronic medical record keeping
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Fine motor skills for handling patients and medical equipment
  • Ability to stand for prolonged hours
  • Ability to kneel
  • Ability to work on the floor
  • Ability to lift up to 25 kg on own
  • Ability to support up to 40 kg with assistance
  • Willingness to work in a noisy environment
  • Willingness to work with strong or unpleasant odors
