Job Summary
Triage, treatments, diagnostics, anesthesia, and critical care nursing for a wide range of emergency cases from minor to complex. Deliver IVs, CRIs, blood transfusions, central lines, endoscopy, ultrasounds, and imaging while managing sample collection and tube placement. Perform CPR and provide emotional support to pet parents during critical moments. Work nights, weekends, and holidays on a rotating basis in a fast-paced, noisy environment with strong odors. Maintain calm under pressure and collaborate with doctors to shape care plans.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Associate's degree or higher in veterinary technology from an AVMA accredited program
- Credentialed as a Veterinary Technician (CVT, RVT, LVT, LVMT) in the state the VEG practice is located
- 1+ years of experience in a veterinary technician role
- Basic computer skills
- Comprehension of practice management software
- Electronic medical record keeping
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to remain calm under pressure
- Fine motor skills for handling patients and medical equipment
- Ability to stand for prolonged hours
- Ability to kneel
- Ability to work on the floor
- Ability to lift up to 25 kg on own
- Ability to support up to 40 kg with assistance
