Job Summary
Triage, treatments, diagnostics, anesthesia, and critical care nursing for a wide range of emergency cases from minor to complex. Deliver IVs, CRIs, blood transfusions, central lines, endoscopy, ultrasounds, and imaging while performing CPR and managing sample collection. Collaborate with doctors to keep patients and their owners together through tests and discharge, maintaining calm under pressure in a fast-paced, noisy environment with strong odors. Work nights, weekends, and holidays on a rotating basis.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Associate's degree or higher in veterinary technology from an AVMA accredited program
- Credentialed as a Veterinary Technician (CVT, RVT, LVT, LVMT) in the state the VEG practice is located
- 1+ years of experience in a veterinary technician role
- Basic computer skills
- Comprehension of practice management software
- Electronic medical record keeping
- Ability to stand for prolonged hours
- Ability to kneel
- Ability to work on the floor
- Ability to lift up to 25 kg on own
- Ability to support up to 40 kg with assistance
- Willingness to work in a noisy environment
- Willingness to work with strong or unpleasant odors
- Availability to work nights
- Availability to work weekends
- Availability to work holidays

Desired Qualifications
- Associate's degree or higher in veterinary technology from an AVMA accredited program
- Experience in emergency or specialty medicine
- Credentialed as a Veterinary Technician (CVT, RVT, LVT, LVMT) in the state the VEG practice is located
- VTS in ECC, internal medicine or anesthesia/analgesia
