Job Summary
Triage, treat, and monitor patients from minor to complex emergencies, managing IVs, CRIs, blood transfusions, and anesthesia for fragile cases. Perform diagnostics, imaging, sample collection, and tube placement while providing emotional support to pet owners during critical moments. Deliver CPR and critical care nursing, collaborating with doctors to shape care plans and maintain steady, compassionate presence throughout discharge. Work nights, weekends, and holidays on a rotating basis in a fast-paced, 24/7 emergency environment.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Associate's degree or higher in veterinary technology from an AVMA accredited program
- Credentialed as a Veterinary Technician (CVT, RVT, LVT, LVMT) in the state the VEG practice is located
- 1+ years of experience in a veterinary technician role
- Basic computer skills
- Comprehension of practice management software
- Electronic medical record keeping
- Excellent communicator
- Calm under pressure
- Fine motor skills for handling patients and medical equipment
- Ability to stand for prolonged hours
- Ability to kneel
- Ability to work on the floor
- Ability to lift up to 25 kg on own
- Ability to support up to 40 kg with assistance
