Job Summary
Emergency Credentialed Veterinary Technician providing front-line emergency veterinary care in a fast-paced ER setting. Responsibilities include triage, nursing care, treatments, diagnostics, anesthesia, monitoring, and critical care, with use of advanced techniques (IVs, CRIs, blood transfusions, central lines, endoscopy, ultrasounds). Collaborates with doctors and team to deliver gold-standard, emotionally intelligent care, supports pet parents, and contributes to planning and care flow. Requires CVT/RVT/LVT/LVMT credentials in the practice state and 1+ years of experience; availability for nights, weekends, and holidays; strong communication and leadership abilities.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Associate’s degree or higher in veterinary technology from an AVMA-accredited program strongly preferred
- Credentialed as a Veterinary Technician (CVT, RVT, LVT, LVMT) in the state the VEG practice is located
- VTS in ECC, internal medicine or anesthesia/analgesia a plus
- 1+ years of experience in a veterinary technician role; emergency or specialty medicine preferred
- Basic computer skills and EMR software proficiency
- Excellent communicator and calm under pressure
- Ability to stand for prolonged hours and lift up to 25 kg (support up to 40 kg) with assistance
- Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays on a rotating or as-needed basis
