Job Summary
Triage, treat, and monitor patients through critical care nursing, anesthesia, and diagnostics including imaging, ultrasounds, and endoscopy. Deliver IVs, CRIs, blood transfusions, and central lines while performing CPR and managing sample collection. Collaborate with doctors to execute treatment plans from minor to complex emergencies, providing emotional support to pet parents alongside clinical care. Maintain electronic medical records and practice management software proficiency. Work nights, weekends, and holidays on a rotating basis in a fast-paced, open-concept environment.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Associate's degree or higher in veterinary technology from an AVMA accredited program
- Credentialed as a Veterinary Technician (CVT, RVT, LVT, LVMT) in the state the VEG practice is located
- 1+ years of experience in a veterinary technician role
- Basic computer skills
- Comprehension of practice management software
- Electronic medical record keeping
- Excellent communicator
- Calm under pressure
- Fine motor skills for handling patients and medical equipment
- Ability to stand for prolonged hours
- Ability to kneel
- Ability to work on the floor
- Ability to lift up to 25 kg on own
- Ability to support up to 40 kg with assistance
