Job Summary
As an Emergency Credentialed Veterinary Technician, you will be on the front lines of emergency veterinary care, collaborating with doctors to triage, treat, diagnose, and monitor patients across a wide range of emergencies (including exotics). You’ll perform nursing care from triage through discharge, administer medications and treatments (IVs, CRIs, blood transfusions), assist with anesthesia and monitoring, utilize diagnostics and imaging, and support pet parents with compassionate communication. You’ll use advanced techniques such as central lines, endoscopy, ultrasounds, and more, and contribute to a fast-paced, high‐stake ER environment while growing your skills through mentorship and ongoing CE. Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Credentialed Veterinary Technician (CVT, RVT, LVT, LVMT) in the state where the VEG practice is located
- 1+ years of experience as a veterinary technician; emergency or specialty medicine experience preferred
- AVMA-accredited program degree strongly preferred (associate or higher)
- Ability to lift up to 25 kg and work in a noisy environment with strong odors
- Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays on a rotating or as-needed basis
- Excellent communicator with calm under pressure
- Proficiency with practice management software and electronic medical records
