Job Summary
Conduct daily instruction for children with intellectual disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, and dual diagnoses in the Day Academy. Manage student testing, assessment, and IEP updates as directed by the School Principal. Collaborate with dedicated professionals and teacher assistants to maintain the physical, emotional wellbeing and safety of all students. Utilize Positive Behavioral Intervention and Support strategies to help students achieve their highest potential. Work within a 10-month school calendar in the Homestead area of Pittsburgh, Pa, with a salary of $55,000 annually.
Required Qualifications
- BS/BA in education
- Active Special Education Instructional I or II Pennsylvania Teacher Certification
- Experience with Positive Behavioral Intervention and Support strategies
- Special Education Teacher experience
- Zero-tolerance policy for abuse
